The Players' Journal is an independent publication launched in January 2024 by Hoon Kim. This newsletter was born out of a deep passion for hockey and a commitment to guiding young players as both athletes and individuals. The mission is to provide concise, insightful content to athletes, parents, and coaches, covering a range of topics crucial for personal, professional, and athletic growth.

About the Author
Hoon Kim brings his wealth of first-hand experience to The Players' Journal. His life is deeply rooted in the world of hockey, spanning over 20 years and including playing alongside world-class players and coaches. Hoon's journey, marked by triumphs, failures, and everything in between, has profoundly shaped who he is today. Within the pockets of these diverse experiences, he has found the essence of his character and strength. This journey has equipped him with a strong understanding of elite athletics and the resilience needed to overcome adversity.
Motivated by a desire to give back to the sport and its future players, Hoon aims to share his experiences with the next generation of athletes. He is committed to creating a library of resources, something he felt was out of reach for most of his career. He strongly believes in the power of knowledge sharing and the crucial role of dedication in each young athlete's journey. His goal is to provide readers with insightful, well-researched, and engaging content that he hopes guides athletes in the right direction and away from many of the misunderstandings he experienced.
Currently, Hoon is playing college hockey at the NCAA level while pursuing a double major in Philosophy and Finance. He plans to continue his education with a post-graduate degree. As he approaches what may be the final chapters of his playing career, he intends to keep athletics a part of his life through The Players' Journal, helping guide the next generation toward their goals.
His experiences in coaching and mentoring have had a lasting impact and fueled his drive to guide athletes on a larger scale, further enriching his understanding and perspective within the beautiful game of hockey.
